Even though the tide was too high to swim in Queen's Bath the day I went, it was still so worth the hike. I had to ditch my flip flops and was ankle deep in mud, which was part of the adventure. The views were incredible!
I'm giving this a five star rating with a caveat.
Place is gorgeous. Trail is tricky. Be very cautious. December- waves are very dangerous and will prevent from swimming and at times walking over to the Queen's Bath itself. Still a beautiful site.
Gorgeous tide pool in the lava rock. The trail there is exceptionally steep and slippery when wet. There's a beautiful waterfall partway down the trail at times. Wear good shoes that can get muddy and have excellent traction.
Tide was too high and rough to get too close. The hike was a little steep and really muddy but so fun! My kids loved it! Beautiful hike! Parking area is really small so you may have to park by the golf course and walk up the road. Be respectful of the people who live in the neighborhood. Had a lady mad that we were stopped in the road trying to find a place to park. A very nice neighbor helped us with info.
I liked it.
Don't come here if you don't like nature. Don't come here if you don't like to work for a reward. Don't come here if you're fragile. Don't come here if you're afraid of getting your clothes dirty. Don't come here if it has been raining all week... unless you like a potentially dangerous hike. Don't come here if you're afraid of getting wet and muddy. Don't come here if you're scared of huge waves.
The place literally has a kill count on a plaque of people who got too close and drowned.
