Best keep secret! We stayed in building 8 with the most incredible views of the bay, and a sunset that can't be put into words. We arrived in Kauai around midnight but waking up with the view we had was an experience in its own. I would say the resort caters more toward adults and couples which made it a perfect fit for us. Beach access was a short walk down an amazingly landscaped path to a very privet beach. The staff was always helpful and kind. You feel more like you are staying in a home instead of a resort. It's the complete opposite of a tourist trap, very private. You never feel like it's over crowed. The restaurant has the best views of the sunset on the North shore. Can't wait till we return in February.
Love it, we go back every year. Pity the restaurant is not open because of the apparent stubbornness of the licensing administration. A parking situation, seemingly. Water of the swimming pool could be warmer too.
Nice amenities. Great room. Well outfitted kitchen. I love the blender and the water boiler those are too useful. The whole place is clean and well taken care of. The pool is large and a really cool design. Very organic. The main lounge/bar has a lot of people constantly in there (but still never hard to get a table) and really good food and nice staff. I would totally recommend this place.
This was our first experience going to the restaurant, Happy Talk. A friend had recommended it but also mentioned it was difficult getting their waitress' attention. My husband and I were seated for at least 10 minutes, never being acknowledged by any staff, no water, etc. Finally one waitress asked if we'd been helped yet. She went out of her way to step in which we appreciated. She took our drink order & eventually another waitress came. The service was seriously lacking. The good news is the food was delicious as was the live music.
The units are clean and well kept and the grounds are beautiful. Service was great! The pool and bar were awesome. The only downside of the resort is the distance to walk from your car to your unit or to the beach. There are golf carts to get you around but it's hard to be as spontaneous or independent when relying on them.
Cleaning of the apartment was not good, floor dirty when we arrived last year. BUT, THE VIEW, ah! the view... beside the St Regis is right next door. Great for the food.
