The four of us each had a different dish and all of us were very happy with the food. It's helpful to note that if you have a room at the resort, they really try to accommodate you.
Happy Talks is a great property overlooking the beach and mountains. It is located close by the reception area and it has lovely surroundings including a pool, bar and Jacuzzi downstairs. Also the main restaurant (which will be open for lunch as well) is under renovation at the moment.
The wedding reception lunch was pretty sad too. Fish wasn't good and the chicken was so dry and cold that cutting it with a knife became a challenge. I however enjoyed the boiled veggies and the biscuit and gravy but it was the heavy creamy sort of stuff.
Fun place. Crowded and noisy. We sat at the bar while waiting for our table. Sports bar atmosphere. My wife had the poke bowl which was excellent. I had the catch of the catch of the day fish sandwich which was swordfish. Great service. Live Hawaiian music from local husband and wife team. Great fun time.
Great views, very good food. Maybe the best burger I ever had. Not cheap.
Service is good but can be improved and the most disappointing for me was the food :(. I really liked the hummus plate and their beetroot salad but didn't fancy their ribs and chicken wings which had too much sauce and just wasn't what we were used to. Breakfast was served pretty cold and felt stale not fresh. Pancakes were just sad and tasted like plastic so food was definitely not prepared fresh which is disappointing for a restaurant that represents the resort :(.
Cold French fries, replaced with more cold fries... ???
Happy Talks, unfortunately is only open for happy hour and dinner, unless previously booked for a private party or wedding receptions.
Update: We did speak with the manager.... It was a very disappointing experience...
Appetizers that never arrived which they "graciously" took off the tab... Well yeah, we never got them!!
This place was amazing in 2016... This year was cold food and poor service...
We had once dinner with family, once breakfast and attended a lunch reception after the wedding ceremony in September.
At night the ambience is filled with fun and lovely lights. It has giant TVs so great to catch up on a game with friends while dinning.
Loved the food, service, and ambiance. Great live music, and the view!! Very romantic.
We met with the owner and he was a lovely person so I hope he manages to improve the menu and ensure better quality food for happy talks as well as the new upcoming restaurant.
